Air Arms Owners Club

A family member is starting out shooting and has the opportunity of a S300 for a couple of hundred quid.
He's wanting my opinion on them, I've had most Air Arms rifles but not that one. I know these are old models but age aside what are the pros and cons of these particular rifles?
Anything he needs to look out for upon buying?
Can you retro fit a multi shot adaptor?
It's .22 by the way, not sure if the calibre makes much difference other than the normal silly 177 v 22 debate.

There's certainly nothing wrong withe the S300. In fact one great thing was the ambi stock.
There was only a few slight changes from the 300 to the 400 and that was for ease of production.

Im not to sure about the block size for a Rowan Engineered magazine,but if you give the boys a ring im sure they would help you out.

All in all he has a very well built retro capable rifle.

I had a S300 in .177 for FT in the late 90's. The only "problem" I found was no typical sweet spot and no gauge. It just went gently down for 50 shots then dropped off steeply. For a full morning practice (120 shots) I carried a buddy bottle from a Superten for two blind top-ups and carried three 35mm film pots of 50 40 and 30 pellets. I would imagine a .22 would give less than 50 reasonable shots.
Lovely rifle but I went for a regged Superten in the end.
