Hi, can anyone tell me if a hft 500 would fit into a aa s400 stock? If so would it fit in without altering the stock.
I would think it would make the whole gun a lot lighter. If anybody has. Any chance of a picky or two.

I know that all the S400/S510 + Ultimate will all fit in S400 stock, and doubt that HFT differs that much, I reckon that trigger guard is the only difference in action to stock fit give A/A a buzz. Rog

Sorry, I've only just spotted this one. Yes the HFT500 does fit any of the standard S4/500 stocks. You might find the trigger guard a bit uncomfortable on your second finger, but a bit of tape or Sugru fixes that for me. Unfortunately you can't fit a standard trigger guard to the HFT 500, or at least, not without more modification than I'd want to make.

If you are thinking of buying a new stock, the HFT500 fits perfectly in the CS700 stock, which is virtually identical to the AA thumbhole and much cheaper. I'm told that it won't fit the CS800 stock, but I've not tried.

Interesting. The S4/500 has trigger unit chassis S313 where the HFT500 has chassis S313-FT. I can't see for the life of me what the difference is apart from the tiny dowel holes for the HFT trigger guard post.

Yes, I was surprised too when I tried it about a year ago. To be honest I can't remember exactly what the problems were and I no longer have a trigger guard to try, but the first problem was to do with the horizontal level of the HFT500 trigger plate being different, and I remember thinking that a Superlite guard might fit, but I didn't have one to try. The second problem was that the length and set-back of the trigger meant that it would foul the standard guard. According to Custom Stocks the greater set-back is the reason the CS800 stock does not fit, although it can be modified to do so. I'd be interested to know if anyone has managed to fit a standard guard to an HFT500 as i'm thinking of going down the Custom Stock route again.

I wouldnt mind betting the guard where the trigger spring is in the chassis which I think is called the superlite (I've only been around AA for a year or so) would fit the HFT. So would a S400 MPR trigger post as they share the same trigger bar JT420.

Yes the old type guard that houses the spring is completely out of the question.

Just a quick update - I tried another club member's Superlite trigger guard on my HFT500 today (sorry Davie, you really shouldn't leave your gun unattended :D !) You have to take the two tiny locator pins out of the HFT 500, but they are just a push fit and can be pulled easily. The problem is, as Custom Stocks said, that the HFT500 trigger is very set back compared to an ordinary S400/500. It depends on exactly how far back you like your trigger, but it might fit without any further modification, or it might not.

I contacted cs custom stocks, to ask if they do a stock to fit a hft 500. They said it would fit into a cs 700
stock with a minor adjustment. Has anyone done this?

Yes. I use my HFT 500 in a CS 700 stock often - and I don't know what modification they mean, mine is bog standard. See my first reply.
