British made scopes?

Hi all,

Who are our homegrown scope manufacturers? I know that BSA for example are a U.K. Company and market their own scopes, but I'd bet they are made elsewhere.

Do we have our own scope industry?

Not as far as I know, I don't even think we had one historically.

The London makers like Wray, Watson , Dollond didn't really get into rifle scopes. We made plenty of microscopes and astronomical instruments. Wray made binos for the war effort.
There is a website below showing British scopes (Periscopic Prism Co. Ltd)  for SMLEs but I reckon it was cheaper to buy from Germany and Japan after the war when civilians got into rifle scopes. BSA would have bought them in from Japan I would have thought.
