I have recently purchased a S400f with a beech stock. What is the best way to keep the stock in good nick. Do you oil them the same as a walnut stock, if so what is the best oil to use.
All replies appreciated.

Re: Care of Beech Stock
I just use light oil after a shooting trip I just wipe down metalwork and woodwork never had a problem, well I did once but that was my fault being lazy and forgetting too give it a wipe over
Ive never bothered but Napier gun oil seems too be a favourite

Re: Care of Beech Stock
After use and in between I give my AGs a nice wipe over with a cotton cloth with some Ballistol oil on.
Very nice for metal and wood stocks too.
Same oil on a cotton patch followed by some dry ones for an occasionally barrel pull-through too.

Ballistol for me too. It's almost a magic oil, good for everything.

Balistol will darken the wood slightly, but is still good for the wood and metal.

If you keep a cloth with oil on in a plastic bag it will be available every time you put the gun back

It's so posh in Cheshire, it rains Ballistol, so we're fine.
