Vaseline and o rings

Chap at my club asked me if Vaseline was ok for o rings, I had to say that I didn't know as I only use silicon grease that I buy from Best fittings, personally I wouldn't use it as I think it is petroleum based and could possibly degrade them, anyone think/know different. Rog

Clue is in the name - "Petroleum Jelly" :lol: . Nitrile should resist most petroleum but I would never use petroleum Jelly on an O ring. Cock ring maybe. :mrgreen:
