Just taken the shroud off and found that the barrel is copper coloured, has anyone else noticed this, sent message to A/A for explanation, nothing back yet, wondering if it's a bit like Daystate shrouded barrels ie not blued, or as it's been called in the white, have to say I quite like the look of it, seems to suit the laminate stock, which is lucky as shroud is now in the bin, don't like them and doubt I ever will. Had a reply back from A/A Sheila, she tells me that all shrouded barrels are treated in this way, have sent a reply back to say that this isn't the case with my other S510s, they are all blued, I noticed yesterday that a friends ultimate was also copper coloured, my main concern with this is, are these barrels as rust proof as normal blued ones, am not over concerned with the colour, and as I always wipe my barrels with oiled cloth there shouldn't be a problem, but it would be nice to know. From tragic experience I would say blued barrels are not rustproof if you degrease them or leave sweaty prints! Our club store shed will prove it.
I once had a Webley junior pistol where part of the frame was brown. different steel mix but it looked lovely.
