MFP and MSP - discuss.

Sat Oct 08, 2016 11:09 am

My S400 MPR cylinder (with end gauge) is engraved MFP 190bar MSP 200 bar. I assume that means Max Fill Pressure and Max Safe Pressure?
The manual just says fill to 200 bar and wait til 100 bar before refilling.
I am a bit confused why it's engraved MFP 190 bar. Are they saying 190 bar is recommended but you can go as far as 200 bar if you dare? If so I wonder why it doesn't say that in the user manual. With the temperature if you fill to 200 it drops to 190 or less on cooling anyway.

Also how do we get the cylinder checked every 2 years? (Manual says 2 - 3 years) Does anyone get theirs checked, and if so do you find an AA service centre or send it off to AA direct?

I may be getting from this (which is what I hoped!) that nobody gets their cylinders checked every 2 years?

Doubt it, got one here that's 14 years old, original cylinder, but as I only fill to 165/170 bar I can't see a problem, I fill my BTAS reg'd S510 to 210 bar and that's fine aswell, don't think buddy bottles have to be checked either, and I certainly wouldn't be sending any of my rifles back to AirArms!.
