Yellow makes them a bit easier to see when you put them down, otherwise they are the same dimensions.

Im not sure if this problem still occurs but some of the early yellow mags were prone too warping.

The s310 came out in1997 so it could be 19 years old i doubt it though

Clear after market ones where available for a short time about 5 years ago.
