Pellet testing results

				Hi all,
Had a bit of spare time on the farm on Monday now that combining has been completed although I now have to find the water leak that has developed Ah well! As it was a windy day I thought that I would put a few pellets through their paces to see how they fare. My mate had turned up with a few that I don't normally use and I thought I'd give them a go as well. My rifle (my regulated S410 classic) was zeroed with Diablo Fields but the following 5 shot groups were shot with no rezeroing and the barrel was not cleaned between types of pellet. Range was 30 yards and the coin shown for comparison was a 1p piece.

Note:- This were not the only groups I shot with these pellets but they are typical of my findings.
First to go was the RWS Hobby:-
To be fair I was not expecting great things from a wadcutter. Beautifully punched holes though:-
Second up was the Rangemaster Kaiser:-
Mmm. Looked pretty good. Shame about that one on the left though. For me in windy conditions was it a fluke?
Next was Bisley with Long Range Golds :-
Not bad at all and pretty much what I normally get with Diablo Fields.

) and his rifle pretty much matched my own results. All in all a useful session and an excuse to rattle off a few hundred shots and also a chance for me to give the newly regulated S410 a bit of a workout. The far higher shotcount (130ish in a 12fps band) made trips back to the car far less frequent and it was nice not to have to worry about keeping the rifle in a sweet spot for this type of testing. Shoots ok as well
