410 to 400 swap over

Tue Jul 05, 2016 9:55 pm

Hi all, im after some good honest advice regarding my 410 classic. I decided i really want a 400 classic & was looking around for one then it dawned on me that i wonder if i can just replace the housing block? Ive priced em at around £80 which isn't bad at all but need to know if it really would be that simple as swapping the block? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

You would be better of finding someone that wants to swop...with money coming your way.

Hi,

Your best bet is to talk to Julian Bond on this forum (bgaltd). His thread is at the top of the main forum page under Airarms Spares. Looks to me like it is only the bolt housing that is different but it could also depend on how old your S410 is as the dreaded Anti-Tamper measures may or may not come into play. They are listed on his website for £77 but you should get a 10% discount by being a member on here :D Why are you looking at this 'downgrade' though?

I just like the single shot as im not a hunter so don't need to rattle shots off quick. I suppose a rowan single shot adapter is an option aswell really. Cheers

I have a a/a 510 very similar too the a/a410, I use s single shot loader in my 510 as I shoot bench rest target in competition and we are not allowed to shoot using a magazine. I find the single shot loader easy to use and also a lot cheaper than changing the block or rifle like your proposing too do , for not much money try one if you don't like it you can always sell it on after ,people are always looking out for them, I hope you sort it out . atb billy
