Hi Guys.
Had a S410 sat around for years and now it's not holding charge. Guessing it's a seal gone so would like to get it fixed and serviced. Can anyone recommend anywhere near Southampton and what would a rough price be? I might sell the rifle after/before.
TIA

Hi,
Depending what you are like with a set of Allen keys and whether your rifle has ant-tamper (A/T) fitted it can be a fairly straightforward job. Parts will probably amount to about £30 or so to change pretty much all that will wear out, loose it's spring or leak. Many members carry out their own service work. There are guides on the web that can guide you as well. Just a thought.
If you mainly want to fix a leak then a good start is to look at the 2 O-rings that are fitted to the pressure gauge dog leg silver block thingy (the AA manual shows an exploded diagram). These are often culprits and worth changing as will probably cost a couple of quid to do. With no A/T then it's a 5 minute job and a single Allen key. Empty the air first though if it hasn't already leaked out. Parts are from bgaltd on this forum or failing that a full seal kit from evilbay is £5 delivered.
Another trick is to put a balloon over the barrel. If it inflates then the firing valve is at fault and will need to be replaced (not a bad thing if the rifle has been sitting idle for some time). This is about £10 on its own but will require a full stripdown as it's probably the last bit to get at.
I know it has not answered your question directly but It may give you another option. I was unsure at first but was surprised how simple they can be to work on. Worst job to do was to remove the A/T measures but I only had it fitted to one of my 4 AA rifles. I trusted that job so someone else who has the right kit for the job. Without A/T work is pretty straightforward.

Re: Southampton s410 service
Give it a go yourself.
Watch the videos then set yourself up with a clear bench to set things out in order of removal. It really is quite simple.
I bought seals and springs from Julian (bgaltd) for around £12 IIRC. Don't forget you need to chrono the rifle afterwards to set it up below 12ftps.

Thanks guys. It has got anti tamper. Guess I'm just nervous of doing it. Saw a video with someone drilling out some screw coversion? ! Put me off a bit and I turned it off!
