Scope reparalex?

Can anyone tell me if you can reparalex a scope in order to shorten the minimum paralex distance? I have my eye on the Vortex viper pst 6-24x50 ffp and like most scopes of these types have a minimum paralex of 50 yards and as an airgun shooter I like to target / vermin shoot from 15 yards. Thanks for any tips on this.

I believe it can be done but in the long run it would less problematic to buy one with A/O.

Its better to get a smaller scope, Ive found my 2.5/10 varmint absolutley awesome, and its clear from 6mtrs on

If you need big mag for other things, Im thinking the smaller the lens the better for range of focus

Thanks, I've already had a chat with a guy from riflecraft, and it was him that suggested I could open the front lens to alter the paralex. I don't want any other scope as Vortex do these unique Christmas tree type reticle (EBR 2C MRAD) that can't be found anywhere in the world at that price range.

Whilst I am not familiar with your particular scope the exercise of adjusting the parallax is pretty straightforward. You may or may not need heat (if the inner ring has been thread locked) to free the threads, if you do don't direct it directly onto the glass. Then just a question of adjusting in / out to suit your desired range, and refitting the outer lock ring.

It's a riflescope (i.e. live ammunition weapon) not an air rifle scope hence the 50 yds to infinity parallax. Scopes can be re-adjusted as Sake San say with some trial and error. Easier just to buy an air rifle dedicated scope imo. Good luck

Yes they are primarily used on rifles..and yes I know what a rifle fires thanks, but they can and are used on air rifles too, if you check out 'Teds Holdover' shooting starlings. I've had several conversations with reps from Vortex. Its not impossible to achieve, they just don't advise it. And as for looking for a regular airgun scope that has these types of reticles, I'd be delighted to hear if you know any.

I really don't know where you want to go with this?
I can shoot one hole groups with a 1974 Airsporter and 4x15 scope at 15 yards.

I had a scout round VH at odd moments looking for an airgun dedicated scope with this reticle. If as you say in a previous post that they are unique and I assume you mean by this exclusive to Vortex, then we will have no joy. There are many Christmas tree type reticles in airgun dedicated scopes from a variety of makers as you will well know. All I can suggest is you look at one of those. For close range work the Simmons Whitetail Classic 1.5 - 5 x 20 is truly excellent on vermin giving a wide angle of view. It is a 30/30 reticle however and many can't adapt to that. I was brought up and trained on open sights and 30/30 reticles.
I always found the Hawke SR pro reticle took a lot of beating tbh.
