BSA Meteor

Hi, I know this may be the wrong place to ask, but I have just bought a pair of old and scruffy looking BSA meteors that I intend on restoring to a slightly better condition.

Does anyone here know the best place to get BSA spares for a mk 2 meteor?
Or if there is a BSA forum that I could get advice and knowledge from?

Or are there any resident springer shooters on here that know anything about the BSA meteors?

I'm good with wood, so can restore the stocks with no problems and I have had re-blueing done by Colin molloy before who I hope to use again for these, so cosmetically I should be able to get them looking well smart, but my knowledge of Spring guns is quite limmited so any help with stripping lubing and tuning would be greatly appreciated.

No worries bud, no offence taken, just got an estimated price from Colin molloy to have them both completely re blued will cost about £100 plus postage so not sure what I'm gonna do with them as that's probably more than they are worth.

Have completely stripped them both and internally they are very good, looks like new springs and seals were fitted to them quite recently, and they have o-ring seal piston heads not leather ones.

The only thing I'm not sure about is that the piston head is metal against metal on the inside of the cylinder tube, is this normal? Or is it possible to put something (an o-ring or something) inside the cylinder to buffer it a little ?

As one of the cylinders has been tapped and drilled (badly) for a scope rail, then I will probably just have the other one reblued and leave the drilled one as it is and just leave it as it is or keep it for spares.

Sounds like they are beyond economical repair. A better option may be to buy a good second hand Meteor which I have seen for about £70 and use the others for spares. .177 preferably as alot of the older. 22's are 5.56 and good accuracy is hit and miss with today's pellets . Or buy Defiant 5.56's.
