re charge trouble s410

Fri Dec 04, 2015 3:01 pm

Hello, I have had a search for the above topic but had no luck so I do apologise if its come up before. Went to refill today via my manual pump and no air is entering the gun. I can get 4 or 5 pumps out of the pump before it starts to feel odd and even the upstroke proves difficult. Meanwhile the gauge on the pump is reading less than 50 bar and I then have to release the pressure from the pump, try again and same result. No air is leaking from the pump by the way. I did phone AA and explained the problem but they suggest my pump is at fault. Help or suggestions would be welcome. I will on my return to England , get it charged via a cylinder or another pump to eliminate the pump.
Thank you in advance

Daft question but are You are certain the pressure gauge is working correctly, and you are not trying to charge a full gun??

Hi Kevin, gun gauge is at 100 bar and plenty of shots rattled off since last charge.

Have had a similar problem in the past so decided to take the pump apart but couldn't get the damned brass ring at the base to undo. A mate too kit away a few weeks ago and later informed me that he got the base apart and cleaned the grease and crap of the plastic balls then put it back together as he couldn't see any other problem and it worked just fine so I gave it to him as a bonus when he bought my S410.

Could possibly help in your case,

Dajo.

definitely sounds like a pump problem to me, had a hell of a job trying to get air into a Raider 10 yonks ago until I discovered the cocking handle had to be in the rear position before the gun could receive air, but, MPI, the pump kept pumping all the time it wasn`t filling, I`d try another source of air IIWY, this should confirm if it`s gun or pump at fault.

What type of filler valve do you have on the gun cylinder?

A lad down at our club had a problem where his gun wouldn't take any air from a 232 bar dive cylinder , it was just charging the hose but not entering the gun.

I haven't seen the lad since but I had a little look at his gun and I think his filler valve was stuck, he had the older male snap type filler valve, I doubt you would have this problem with the newer t bar type.

I tried the old push the filler valve down onto a 50p coin to try and release it but it was jammed solid which made me think that was the problem.

Thank you all for your input, will take the gun to a shop to try and fill it off a cylinder and see where we are, the pump is certainly pumping but whether its enough open the guns valve I don't know? The gun is approx. 6 yrs old and has the t bar attachment. I will let you know the result next week.
