Shooting sticks

I'm thinking of buying a set of shooting sticks I've just got my first permission (a small holding) I will mostly be static shooting from a hide but I will have to do a bit of walking / standing and with the back problems I'm a bit shaky so thought this might be the way to go .
So I'm after your recommendations?

You can indeed make your own as i have done in the past to reasonable success however if you really want the best you can not beat the Hammond Quad Pod. Google it. These are absolutley the dogs danglies and i use these on all my rifles from sub 12 air through to my 243 centre fire. Brilliant for shooting anything from bunnies to Deer. I can honestly say you can shoot excellent groups using this product. At night they are a godsend and are quick and easy to deploy. Downside? the price mate around £160 but for me i would'nt swap them. Honestly beat anything homemade or or any of these trigger pod things. Shot rabbits from 30 metres to Foxes out to 200 no problems. Highly recommend but at the end of the day its how much you want to spend or indeed can afford

Absolutely brilliant. Available from Hammonds and Johnson Brown of Shildon who are the only distributors other than Hammonds. Made in Denmark. Medical grade aluminium it says on the label. Height adjustable by a simple twist and pull or push motion with marked graduations so you can note your ideal height. They can even be used on slopes as one side will lower or extend accordingly. Very stable shooting platform.

they are easy i made tri pod .

A tripod is no where near as stable as a Hammond quad pod. I've used everything from monopod, bipod and tripod over the years some of which have been home made jobbies but honestly guys nothing is as stable as the Hammond quad pod. They do take a bit of getting used to for anyone that has not used a quad before but once mastered you'll wonder how you managed before. At the end of the day though its what you are prepared to spend and what you want. If you want what is probably the best product available though that will last a lifetime go for a Hammond

I knocked up a set in around an hour from old tent frame poles, the ones with the male to female connections & elastic cord running through them, seconds to set up & take apart & rather snazzy in metallic blue.
