Pro sport

Sun Oct 25, 2015 4:57 pm

Hi my first post after much deliberation and already owning 3 TX i made the plunge and bought a new pro sport beech in 22 very happy with shot cycle but I noticed that the compression tube after cocking and returning the under lever was very loose in the action so much so that it would move up and down as its connected to the Cocking arm I wondered if this was normal as it doesn't occur on any of my TXs and I thought it was supposed to have tight tight tollorrences and run on delrin bearings

That's a problem I've only seen once before and that was down to the delrin buttons being almost flush with the surface of the comp tube.
Having said that, if the cocking stroke is smooth and the shot cycle is good don't worry for now, the comp tube is self centralising when you close the cocking lever. If it's a brand new gun I would get a few thousand pellets through it first to run it in and then see how you feel about the slack.
Don't forget the all important maintenance hints in the handbook, a drop of oil on the safety button occasionally and a regular drop on the visible area of the comp tube. At some point you'll want to strip it and relube it properly but I would forget that until you're entirely happy you haven't got a problem. Anything else you need to know, just ask.
