low power

bought a S200 MK 3 for the wife to use for hunting with me great little rifle but seems a little short on power with rws super field its only doing 730 fps which make it around 9.5 foot pounds i think any help would be great many thanks geoff and ann

no secon hand but looks to have been well looked after just noticed that the air cylinder keeps coming loose could that cause a problem?

Being second hand rules out my answer then. Not really up on the workings of the 200 so I'll leave it to the more knowledgeable ones but a loose cylinder will definitely add to the problem I imagine. Someone will be along to help shortly I should think mate.

From what I can recall the "firing valve" is in the cylinder.

If the cylinder is loose it will result in low and uneven power. First step is to tighten the cylinder and re-check.

RWS pellets arent the most effiecent as they are hard, try airarms field or jsb and chrono again in the middle of your air fill pressure say around 140-160 bar,you may find its running around the 11.5 flb or 765 to 775 fps
