floating a ftp 900

hi all has any one on here floated a ftp 900 barrel ?. if yes was it worth doing, cost of bit to do it and where to get bits from. thanks tony.

Well worth doing, remove all junk on the barrel including diagonal bar so you are down to a bare barrel, fit 2 carbon fibre tubes one over the barrel and the other over the first tube to stiffen it up leaving enough bare barrel to go into a Rowan air stripper. The difference is very noticeable, great improvement.

thanks fordy i put same post on shooting the breeze and your the first to say use 2 carbon tubes, when you think about it it makes sence. i did notice the barrel was a bit flexy. atb tony.

I noticed that you have floated the barrel on the AA900. I would like to do the same.
I have tried two ways to do this. Air Arms say remove muzzle end, front part of shroud, screws holding
barrel, slide off barrel. Only problem is the barrel is so tight I can not move it.

Other way, remove stock to get at the screws that hold the barrel band in place, but again
the screws that hold the bracing bar in place are so tight I was worried I would snap them. So I gave up.
