As most have said it's a great piece of kit. Being the lazy person I am, I ordered the barrel aligning tool to make aligning the Combro idiot proof. I found the Combro works best when fitted with the display above the barrel for my HW95 break barrel. As already said top notch service from Robin with regards to repairs.

Having a bit of trouble setting my rifle up which ran is hopefully going to help me with, I have a slight inkling that it could be the chrono my LGS sent me as it's mainly for air soft and its was made in Taiwan haha speeder 2000 if anyone knows? Basically I'm clutching a straws and wanted to know if I get a combro are they any good?

Cheers

save your money up and get a skan , make your self a rifle rest for shooting through it , they work in any light and are as good as you can get , the police use them ,

china make cheep air rifles but they do not shoot or last long before there in the bin .doesn't mean I must buy one,

all iam saying is a skan will last you for years and if you come to sell it you will get good money back for it,
yes the police and gun shops use them because the skan is recognised by the HOME OFFICE .

you can use the skan unit at home in a shed etc in low light and it has mains power and you can use a battery power if you want to use at the range or any were,
ive used the f1 very light sensitive , the combro is a pain to set up on the rifle, ( if you do not shoot it off ) it can falls to bits,
phone apps are a waste of time,

all i am saying is if you can afford £200 skan you will be using it all the time and your mates will want you to test their rifles to see what real fpe their rifles are doing,

Depends on what you want a chrono for.

I have a Combro, a Skan and a CED.
The Combro and Skan are O.K. up close to the barrel. The CED you can also use either close up or at a distance.
For home/incidental use the Combro is difficult to beat considering it's price. The Skan is better for increased/commercial use and the CED is the most versatile.

No chrono is "Home Office" approved. The only chrono that matters is the calibrated one (UKAS) that the Test House uses when they test your gun.

The SKAN PRO1 Series 3 is the very latest in CHRONO technology designed to give the user a professional and reliable unit capable of accurate velocity measurement

Designed especially for air weapons, each CHRONO is individually calibrated to a master CHRONO.

The certification of the SKAN master CHRONO was carried out by the HOME OFFICE FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY

this is what the director of skan told me on the phone, the unit is a self test unit every time you turn it on,

Unfortunately the Forensic Science Service shut down 3 years ago.

Calibration can be carried out by any UKAS registered Lab.
I have no doubt that some labs do use a Skan but will also have to have it independently calibrated on a regular basis. There are other chrono's about, as good as, if not better than Skan.

Try your Skan at 40 yds

Chrono is an excellent bit of kit, on a springer I use some velcro tape which has been OK.
As above, here speaks a man of untold wisdom and experience.
I'm not biased even though I'm in the same club as Ray.

I'm not "knocking" the Skan. They are a very good chrono.

For most peoples use the Combro is the best bet, especially at it's price. My club has an older Skan and it gets a lot of use. As long as it's cleaned out regularly (lead dust accumulation) it gives good and reliable service. The club also has a Chrony that it uses on it's outside range and that works well.

Being realistic the Combro has to be the best bet for the "ordinary" airgunner. Too many airgunners don't have anything so a £50 Combro is the one to get.
