so I bought my tx very early this year and it was shooting lovely and I preferred it to my s410 For a while but curiosity got the better of me and I took it apart for a little nosey and maybe a cleanup. Before I took it apart it was very smooth and when fired it was a sort of thud no twang, but now it's got a terrible twang and seems to kick far more too. Anyone got any idea on what went wrong. Or do I just need to buy a v-Mach?

Wrong lube, breech seal missing, damaged the piston seal? Put the spring in the other way round to originally? (Believe it or not the springs can be slightly different at each end.)
Overlubed? Washers/spacers in the wrong place? Tophat missed out? The only way to find out is to strip it down and have a look.

While the gun's apart I strongly recommend polishing both ends of your spring.

I like to use wet or dry sandpaper on a flat under water. This has reduced or eliminated twang for me.

V mach wont cure it, when my prosport went twangy the last time all i did was clean and relube the piston, when you look at whats happening theres no way lubes can last fore ever in that enviroment, most folk that own a springer dont shooter em much so 3-4000 shots maybe 3-4 years between service, my own take on twanging is the piston speed has increased and thats why a kick can be felt, like tim said it can be seals anything that causes the piston speed to increase, the correct lube on the piston and in the comp tube will control the piston speed as long as you seals arent leaking pressure away you should end up with a low recoil gun
mine is fitted with a welsh willy kit and i can get about 6 months between services but i only need to clean the piston and comp tube and relube
Will at woodfield sells the moly slide lube for the piston
