I am thinking of trading in my HW100tk .177 for a new S510 .177 and i am looking for your thoughts, i have my own thoughts and reasons as follows.
The HW is heavy, the S510 is lighter
The HW is regulated , but from a full fill (190bar) i get 56 shots and then have to re fill, the S510 i am not exactly sure but going on the shot count of my TDR
i can get 50 shots from a 190 bar fill .
The HW is regulated, ok reflecting on the TDR i did a string of 50 shots last night at 35 yards into a 4" square timber end (from a rest) and put all 50 within 1.5"
Some may say get another TDR ? but i have one and i do like the biatholon side leaver of the S510.
Ajusting the HW to keep it within the law is very dificult as the AT is almost fixed, yet the S510 is an easy job to remove the AT and keep an eye and on the right side of the law.
In my conclusion the only + point's for the HW ar the 14 shot mag and the regulator, But it is only just higher on shot count .
On the down side it is heavy, after that the S510 is getting all the + points, and if the new S510 is as good as my TDR then i cant see a contest.
The only other thing regarding the S510 is the barrel length should i concider the rifle or the carbine and would this affect the shot count?.

Keep the HW,100 mate,,, better magazine system, The HW,100 is regulated and it works very well indeed, so consistent from green- yellow,,, even so far into the yellow.
I Push 8,magazines before drop off. in .177 full length rifle.

Don't trade the HW,100,,, you already have the best rifle with the HW,100.

Sometimes, we all think we can do better with another type or make of rifle,,, I have had loads of Air rifles over the years with buying and trading. ( I TELL YOU THIS)

The Weihrauch HW,100,,, is hard to beat,,, believe me,,, I have had loads of rifles and tried out the best at the range. The HW,100, is the best PCP on the market.

KEEP the HW,100,,, and save up for the AA if you must.

Zippy is, as always, 100% correctamondo, but, if weight is an issue with you, let me tell you it is a (major) issue with me, that`s why I don`t lug an LGU round my permission (+ I prefer .22 for game- a totally different subject I know) but, my LGU is on a par weight wise with the HW100, that`s why I shoot (pests) with my S200! as always mate, you`ve gotta try `em out, see what suits YOU!
I`d borrow a 510 IIWY & give it a try-who knows?

Get yourself an alloy cylinder for the HW100.

You will lose around 1lb in weight and it will transform the rifle. The cost would be about the same as changing the gun.

There are some pasionate reply's, but i will try the s510 first before i make a desision as i do love the HW .
Off to BAR tomorow morning so i can get a feel of one or two , or maybe three or four guns , it's like a brothel for shooters.

Please, take note mate, the magazines on the R10 are big issue,,, yet again BSA have made yet another replacement magazine. this time with polymer inner wheel, to allow pellets to feed properly and not Jam, That is 3, magazines BSA have put out over the years onto the market. Why?,,,, I let you work it out.

Buy the HW,100 mate. you will regret the R10. (You'l most likely will not take my advice.) ( buy the HW,100) trust me!

The R10's stuck on the shelf's and gun rack in the gun shop, will not have the new magazine's fitted so you will have to buy this as well.

Here bellow is the new magazine for the R10 changed for good reason.

The BSA R10 another new bloody magazine,,, I think this number 3..... one day they will get it right...
