TX200 question

Hi all

Just a quick question for all you tx 200 owners.

A work colleague of mine has just bought one second hand; he has sent me a few pictures, as we are both on rest days at the moment, and to be fair it looks in good nick.

What i wanted to ask was, the scope is mounted with two piece mounts, should he be swapping them out for a single piece mount or will they be okay?

Cheers

Neil

Two piece mounts are fine as long as they're good quality double screw types. Use a stop pin if the mounts have one fitted. If the pin has a sharp point, take a file to it and round it off for a better grip.

Personally, I only use Sports Match one piece mounts on my springers but as Timmytree says, a good set of two piece mounts will do the job fine but regularly check for any scope creep/movement just in case.

Assuming that the rifle has not been tuned (butchered!) for elephant hunting then any quality mounts should be fine, the TX produces rather limited recoil.
In addition to the guidance above it is good practise to degrease the dovetails and if necessary the mount jaws prior to fitting.
