I'm not upset mate, just pullin someones leg......and FAC was mentioned earlier in the thread to be fair - click back a page for evidence (rhogg said it).

I was just passing on what I've learned over 35years worth of chats to chaps who know more than me with regards FAC.... :D
Apologies for not being clearer on that.

Hi Dr B sorry for confusion, sahs original post was not about fac, and yes I saw Rhoggs post, maybe there could be a separate section for fac, it's ok for old hands but newbies have enough to learn with 12 ft lb IMO. Now am more interested in Rhoggs problems. It's all fun ain't it. Cheers Rog x

I am now not sure whether I should be replying to this post or starting another thread. Anyway here goes.

I have received my S510 FAC .22 back from AirArms who had tested it and found nothing wrong. The only change to the rifle that I can find is the power adjuster is no longer fixed on full power and was set to the lowest setting when the gun came back.

I refitted the scope and zeroed the rifle in at 50 meters. I then fired 5 groups of 5 using the AirArms Field 16gn 5.52 and then again with my original JSB Exact 15.89gn 5.52. The results are as follows:

190bar.
AA
20mm (I only fired three because I thought this looks great.)
52mm
75mm
35mm
48mm

190bar.
JSB
35mm
28mm
45mm
45mm
34mm

Conditions were 8C with a 20deg wind 6m/s.

Before I sent the gun back I was shooting 75mm spreads. What should I be expecting? With my 12ft/lb S410 I shoot less than 30mm groups at 50m using H&N FTT. I am new to FAC air rifles.

Here is an unscientific pellet comparison:
HEAD LENGTH WEIGHT
JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89gn 5.52
1 5.49 5.242 15.70
2 5.49 5.242 16.20
3 5.49 5.242 16.00
4 5.50 5.242 16.00
5 5.50 5.242 15.80
6 5.51 5.242 16.00
7 5.51 5.242 15.70
8 5.51 5.242 15.80
9 5.51 5.242 15.50
10 5.52 5.242 15.80
AA Diabolo Field 16gn 5.52
1 5.49 5.249 15.80
2 5.49 5.247 15.70
3 5.50 5.249 15.80
4 5.50 5.249 15.80
5 5.50 5.248 16.20
6 5.51 5.248 15.80
7 5.51 5.248 15.80
8 5.51 5.248 15.40
9 5.52 5.248 15.40
10 5.52 5.248 15.70
Make of that what you will.

what group sizes are you getting at 30 yds ?????
ragged 1 holers should be possible at this range from bench rested.
