springer / pcp hybrid
Re: springer / pcp hybrid
Not quite the same but I have seen an electrically compressed spring. You throw a switch to 'cock' the spring. Runs off batteries,. Quite weird and silly, I thought. So did Giles who was reviewing the gun.

Made by Browning Raj, I remember when it came out first.

Why not just have a different design of seal that doesn't allow the passage of air ?

it would have to be like a piston ring and that would slow the stroke down to much and to fast for the size of the used spring.
i think thats why is has never been done ,
lets just stick to springers as they are after all thats what the fun is all about with a springer we dont want to turn all rifles in to pcps that would be cruel.

Re: springer / pcp hybrid
I get more pleasure shooting my prosport than my s400,maybe its the fact that ive played around with it and reached a very acceptable balance between spring , stroke and pellet, this makes rediculasly consistant and accurate
Re: springer / pcp hybrid
How about a Whiscombe or a Park?,no recoil,no pump or bottle required, just a big cheque book and biceps to match.

I love the inventive ideas that make this forum so interesting and do not belittle any of them. On this occasion, you might be sitting on a world beater but my gut reaction is 'Why bother'
Re: springer / pcp hybrid
What about an over and under or side by side?,a .177 pcp for target use combined with a .22 underlever springer, selective triggers like a twelve gauge. To save all up weight the reservoir for the pcp could be a remote unit held in a holster on the shooters belt.Hell,it couldn't look any worse than an S510TC.
Damn, I must stop watching that Cohen brothers film.

Add some wheels, a couple of horses to pull it and who knows? we've invented artillery!
