Ive owned two classic rifles in the past and currently own a carbine, they are both equally brilliant rifles. A classic will give you more shots per fill but i dont see why everyone is so concered on shots per fill nowdays, everyone wants 1000 shots per fill when they only need around 30 on a good day. Around the farm and barns a carbine would be excellent due to its shorter length and its lighter, it makes a great barn plinker and i think 60 shots is plenty for hunting without a doubt. Would also say multi shot all the way in my opinion unless you plan on HFT shooting. Just my opinion guys ☺

barty, go to a local dealer hold and feel both the classic rifle and carbine and make you choice. Its all abouth personal preference and neither is better than the other in my opinion of owning both and a tdr.

Ive owned a 177 classic and loved it. Sometimes a little long in my hide but nothing major. I should never have sold it. Seeing as im buying again from new I wasn't sure if a carbine would be a better choice hence the post thanks

A carbine is always handy when shooting from a hide, but if you want a good all rounder, the classic will probably serve you better.

I only hunt with mine, so I have a carbine in .177.

Can anybody explain to me how a classic is a better "all rounder" as ive owned two classic , one being a 2006 .22 model and one being an early 2002 .177 model without alloy gauge bezel on the stock and upside down style bolt before owning the .22 carbine. Pleaee somebody enlighten me rather than quote something along the lines of more shots as in sub 12ft pounds at 50 yards they are neck and neck. Anybody? :D

Quite simply....."more shots" What else needs to be said?

As opposed to a .177 killing them just the same? Why "whack them off their feet"? Dead is dead!

What about barrel error geordie from the longer barrel during shooting or the additional weight to handle? Why do we need more shots per fill than 60 ???
