Must be a misprint. He meant to say .22 and he's shooting 1 shot groups. I forget what was being shot, but could this be the same guy that shot standing in a ditch and propped on a fence post? That thread was a real good one.

Not to mention the guy who regularly (his word, if I remember rightly) hits match boxes at 100 yards shooting standing, unsupported - and so do his mates! Of course, once every 10 years would be regular......

Oh, I'm disappointed now!! I thought he was shooting match heads not boxes!

I just love these threads on other forums!
Someone returning to shooting after a 4 year break buying an HW springer in .177 and instantly getting 1/4 inch groups at 57 yards!
WOW! I'm obviously bloody useless, I'm giving up shooting the PS and S200 and going to take up knitting and bowls, then sit in my armchair and reminisce about the old days when I could light matches at 50 yards with a catapult made of knicker elastic.

What I like about this forum is that we don't have the "deadshot sniper from another world" ex-spurts .. just solid info and good banter

No big surprise he / she had obviously just installed a couple of bits of milled plastic at each end of the spring, well known to completely transform a springer, utterly and totally, it's well documented on oh so many forums so must be true
The same people get low single digit fps strings with unweighed pellets, often improved further by installation of said plastic bits ... it's true it is
They are also blessed with a magic ability to get absolute, repeatable consistency from pellet batches by simply using the (completely erroneous) head size on the front of the pellet tin...

These days I just smile and move on

maybe, a embellishment tournament should take place. 129 yard crow, but rifle slung backwards over the shoulder whilst using a mirror, sounds quite feasible. well maybe not on this forum, but maybe on some parallel universe forum!
