Quigley Hollow was fine, just needs tweaking, bigger barbecue, competitions organised up front, loved the covered shooting bench. I prefer a summer meet, it gets cold at night in a tent ;)

I wouldn't mind going back as Mick was a great host, as long as things changed a bit.

As Kev says 2 days plinking wasn't the most enthralling, I struggle after 20 mins!

The food situation needs to be sorted, I threw away £15 worth of food due to the lack of a BBQ!
Mick says the food guy normally does all day Saturday and Sunday morning, that would have made sense due to a lack of BBQ.

The Reflex targets at night were a good thing as apposed to a night shoot.
The 5 shot comp was also a good thing and may have helped retained some of the guys who left on the Saturday.

In my opinion we need a proper comp on the Sunday to keep folks interested for the weekend. Preferably a proper HFT one as most people are familiar with it and would be more likely to want to stay.

As for timing I think outside the school holidays may have helped numbers June/July or Speptember possibly if we want the best chance of decent weather (LOL)
Another thing to consider is the Forum take over and fresh start. I am sure this wouldn't have helped numbers, another year down the line things should improve. I spread the word to alot of old members on facebook, but maybe announcing it on all the other airgun forums may help?

My preference would be
Saturday
5 shot challenge during the day
Electronic targets early evening

Sunday
Breakfast first thing
HFT comp

I would have loved with a passion to have came to the meet this year.

It, would have been so nice to see everyone, however,.. 7,+ hour of driving and 380 miles is a little to far for me!.

I do understand that if you move it more North, it may put off other members in the south,,, same problem.

The only solution is too have it more south one year, then have it more North the next following year this would make it fair and work well.... :D

As i said I would have loved to have been at the meet this year with a passion, it would have been so nice to see everyone.... :D

You are all a fantastic bunch of lads on here, and enjoy so much chatting about our love of shooting, and air rifles.... :D

Regards Mick.... :D

If this was to happen it might be worth thinking about a northern meet and a southern meet. Not trying to create a north - south divide here but it may give everybody a chance to attend a meet. ;)

Thank you Gnome

I am genuinely sorry about your's and Debbie's food situation on Saturday and would have gladly fetched a BBQ over from my house if I'd have known your situation earlier.

With the slightly higher numbers of folks attending the Boinger Bashes It's worthwhile for Kev (generator and gas costs) to be cooking all day Saturday and then serving breakfast on Sunday morning.

With regards holding an FT or HFT competition I have in the past borrowed a few Knockdown targets from the Greyhound Gun club and Big Bill has set a course out, unfortunately I didn't think to do the same for you lads as I just took the meet to be a social event with no comps.
At present I have just four silhouette targets which were kindly donated by Solware, I have already approached them about purchasing enough to lay out a course.
As the targets are picked up and stored after every event I'd prefer to go with the targets that reset on the second shot as opposed to knockdowns as I find winding up the strings a pain in the neck --- would they be good enough ?
As I'd be laying a course out on a featureless field I could lay out a few pieces of vintage farm machinery out to re create a farm paddock to make things more interesting.

As you can tell whether you good folks return or not I'm happy to take any criticism on board and work from it to improve things if possible --- so thank you for everyone's input.

All the best Mick

Here is my say.
I wanted to have a summer meet so that folk could enjoy themselves more with out getting hypothermia. As we have been having a shortage of regular posters i thought we could skip the competitions and concentrate on meeting and greeting.

We still never got the numbers we wanted but thats just one of those forum things. The location was perfect and central.

Mick provided everything i asked for....so any criticism stops with me.
