s200, best version?
Re: s200, best version?
The benefit of the single shot system is knowing that the multishot system is not going to chew up your bolt probe o ring. And what ray said - you cant use the multishot in comps.

Mr Raj is of course, completely correct this time, but I`d add to his answer, ahem, the advantage of the single shot is, we only take single shots at a time!
my late father, faffing around with my 200 with the 10 shot mag`, loaded god knows how many pellets into the barrel & I`d to melt them out, I removed the 10 shot multi thingy there & then (2 years ago) & haven`t put it back (or wanted to-or missed it!) I don`t even have the single shot tray to fall back on, I just got used to loading by hand & got on with it!
some experienced shooters (help Ray-Zippy?) will tell you, you can feel tight fitting & loose fitting pellets only if you load them by hand, the only (very) tight pellet I`ve come across are daystate Li`s, but they do hit home where I point them, but AA fields do the biz, day in- day out!
shoot at reasonable distances (20-30m), most modern pellets will give you cloverleaf groups-rested mind!
BUT, & it`s a biggy,- shoot at 20-30m (rested) with AA fields through an S200, you`ll think your an airgun god!

Re: s200, best version?
Thanks for the replies. I have just picked up a S200 from Julian and we talked about this, he gave me some spare o-rings, although this one is setup well currently.
How do you double load? I have never done that with the HW, if you cycle the lever with a pellet in you can feel it in the feedback, but it still doesn't load another pellet, does this not happen with the 200?

The HW100 is one of the few rifles that do stop you double loading. The majority of mag fed rifles can be double loaded.

Re: s200, best version?
it`s quite simple with the 200 (& most othe multi shot rifles) pull the cocking lever back,- the mag` will index forward, push the lever forward, it pushes a pellet into the breech,--don`t fire! pull the lever back, then forward, you`ve just double loaded! repeat above (as my dad did & many others have) you`ve multi loaded the barrel. they`re a nightmare to remove!
Some new rifles have as an additional selling point, an unable to multi load feature in the loading thingamawhotsit.

Re: s200, best version?
i dont see why people have a problem double loading I`ve had two s410`s and still have a s200 all multishot and I have never double loaded them.
I think double loading is due too a lack of concentration.if you cant remember if you`ve loaded or not then..........

True that ... What worries me is the variation of double loading. If you can think you havent loaded once, you could also think you havent loaded at all when you have

spot target...then load...fire....and do not load again until there is another target. its the same for paper or pest
