Pellets on a plane
Pellets on a plane
Purchased some pellets while on holiday in Spain just to help break in the new rifle as they're cheap. What's the score with taking on a plane as they're not classified generally???

Sime airlines class them as ammunition and ban and some are not so stupid but they will light up the xray like a beacon so best to call and ask your airline if you can put them in the hold luggage and declare at the terminal.

Some airlines class them as ammunition and first thought is to ban them, and some are not so stupid. They will light up the X-ray like a beacon so best to call and ask your airline if you can put them in the hold luggage and declare at the terminal preferably with the receipt. Tell them they dont contain any propellant. They probably wont be allowed in the hand luggage.
this is easyjet for example. ok in hold up to 5kg.

Going through, the Spanish customs just asked what they were. Told him pellets, just shrugged and waved me away. Needn't have bothered as they're rubbish anyway.
