If I can refer you to another somewhat parallel thread viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2942&start=10#p29243 My last chrono session with the .177 classic gave a 20 shot string with no power curve and like yours a variation of 3 fps. It's only 20 shots (I was just checking power levels) but I would like to think that the other 115 shots would show similar variances and I have no reason to doubt it. It has certainly improved on my initial graph now that it has had a few shots through it

I notice your rifles are in .22 calibre. My own .22 carbine is not regged and has similar figures to your own (that's why I haven't regulated it) and I am lead to believe that the .22 flavoured guns have flatter power curves and better shot to shot consistency.

Nobody is forcing anyone down the regulator route. This thread was to show my own findings as info on results can be hard to find. If your .22 is anything like mine then I would not bother regulating it. .177s to me seem to be a different animal though.

Yes, like i say, no regged S410 i have ever seen betters what I've got in my non-regged S410s. I cannot speak to the issue of .177s, but i think the best advice to anyone really is to try non-regged options first (full clean and tune up) and if its still not to your liking, then get a reg. You may well have fitted a reg needlessly if you did not explore those options first.

Got the option of buying a brand new AA Ultimate Sporter from Phil @ Rat Works, which had been fitted with a Lane Reg & a Tune (also had been fitted with the "Lane" Front fill gauge with the QF Assembly, Carbon dipped shroud and moderator and a Rowan Engineering Single shot tray thrown into the price). Filled to 200 Bar and ran 10 Mags through it yesterday, it was showing 732 fps +/- 5fps across all 10 Magazines (on a Combro Mk4). My FPS started to drop off as pressure approached reg pressure and towards end of 11th mag was dropping to 708 fps and to 670 fps on the end of the 12th mag

My original "Un reg'd" Ultimate Sporter used to give me 8 mags of good shots on a 200 bar fill before a noticeable drop off in accuracy

Trying to decide if I give my original Sporter to Phil to do his work on it or sell it as I keep wondering why do I have 2 Ultimate Sporters and a S510 Superlite now ..

Easy to answer that... sell, it's the opposite of "I'm looking after it for a mate", which is quickly followed by "he didn't want it back".
