I am very interested in the Falcon 4x14x44 FFP.
I noted that a few members on here have them.
Which reticle would you recommend?
And are you still impressed?

I have the B20 IR Reticule on my one, to be honest I used it for a while but took it off and put my Mambalite back on, it's quite a big old lump with very large turrets and I would say overkill for an S400 or my S200, the glass is ok but my one is back in its box, I am sure other bods love them to bits though, I will probably be selling this one sometime soon. did have a look through the m 18 and was impressed with that.

Re: Falcon Menace
There is nothing bad about the glass, it's nice and clear, it's just that it is quite a heavy piece of kit, if I used a bipod more it would probably suit me fine, but for my kind of shooting ie in woods it's not really needed. Rog

Re: Falcon Menace
I was tempted by the x18 at £200.
Most of my scopes are vortex and they are faultless.

Which ones, Diamondback HP side focus, see they only weigh 510gm as opposed to 750gm on the menace. And how close will they focus. And by the way, I wouldn't say that the B20 Reticle is all that fine either, you can see dot on 25 yd target card with It, a mate of mine uses his for Benchrest shooting, and seems to get on ok with it, as if say just a weight issue with me, if I put it on my HW80 I doubt I would be able to lift it Rog
Re: Falcon Menace
Lot of scope for £200 but didnt realise they were so heavy.
Re: Falcon Menace
I've got the M18 in the dot reticule. I like it. Mines FFP you can get SFP now for £199.

Re: Falcon Menace
I own 4 of the Falcon menace scopes, they are entry level FIRST FOCAL PLANE scope. They have just brought out the new model 4-18x44 Which I own.
The new 4-18x44 model is the same size dimensions as the 4-14x44 but the x18 is lighter in weight and better glass with been a newer improved model also has improved audible clicks on the turrets and come with 2 sunshades that screw together to make a rather long sunshade which makes your rifle look very sniper like.
(The 4-18x44, B20 reticle in MIL, MIL is definitely the one to go for) (M18) http://www.falconoptics.com/m18-4-18x44-riflescope-mrad
I would get and purchase the B20 and the 44x18 as the weight is lighter and better glass, and with the reticle in MIL, MIL configuration. falcon scopes in the MIL, MIL configuration, this is, in my opinion, the best for air rifles used for hunting as you can use and adjust magnification setting and your mil dots aim points stay exactly the same with been in the FFP, unlike SFP.
Do not be tempted to purchase any other falcon scope but the 44 x14
or even better the (44x18) as the larger and older 5-25x50 are far too heavy and cumbersome not needed on an air rifle.
As I said, the Falcon FFP allows you to adjust your magnification anywhere you like with no change in aim points on the reticle, try this on SFP scope and you lose your true mil dot aim points.
With the falcon scope been a First focal plane and in MIL, MIL configuration means your reticle matches you turrets so 2 clicks on the turrets move the reticle one MIL to the left or right and same with elevation easy. you don't have to convert MOA into MIL like all SFP scope on the market.
