Four days...
Four days...
Sometime Thursday I'll be a legitimate member of the AAOC. I've been shooting something for 60 of my 65 years, target, competition benchrest (centerfire), hunting, plinking, pest control (God bless prairie dogs!), etc., and I have NEVER been so anxious to acquire a firearm. Up till 3 weeks ago, I thought "air arms" was what happened when you held a heavy weight overhead for too long. Then I saw a picture on a forum a day after I bought a Gamo .22 Hunter...then I saw a video review, then another, sold a Ruger MkII pistol and ordered the TX200 in walnut. Keeping the Gamo for heavier game, btw.

Re: Four days...
I ordered it from Pyramyd Air...nobody local sells them as far as I could tell. Nice wood is always welcome! I bought an English walnut stock set for a Thompson Center Contender made by a guy in Nebraska that is so beautiful I can't sell it...

I'm officially a regulation member of this august gathering, but must admit to some questionable behavior. Liking what I heard about the Vortek tuning kit, I ordered one as well as an o-ring thingy that sounded useful. That was Friday, got a call from Vortek this morning telling me that they had no o-ring thingies on hand and asked if a similar item would suffice. I said sure, having no real need for the fix anyway, then the nice man explained that they could ship today! I had to tell him that was fine, as I had no rifle to install them on anyway...if ever a pause in conversation could be thought of as quizzical, that was it.
Back to my happy dance.

Re: Four days...
Got TX200 on Thursday, shot it some on Friday, Vortek 12FPE kit arrived & installed Saturday, old man happy Sat, Sun, Mon...teeth are dry from grinning for three days. This is one sweet set-up. At 50 ft, five shots into .189, shots 6 & 9 expanded group to .710". 50 shots total thru gun, thirty since Vortek installed.
Is 12FPE safer for upgraded scopes? This rig really cries out for better glass.
