Air Rifle Security
Re: Air Rifle Security
Mine are in a gun cabinet fixed to the wall, keys in a keysafe. Key to the keysafe is always with me.
Re: Air Rifle Security
Mine are stored in a guns safe, which is located out of site, correctly fitted to the walls inside a cupboard. The keys are always with me.
Re: Air Rifle Security
Looks like this was actually raised and discussed formally in the House of Commons a few days ago on the 14th September. According to the published narrative, the family are not calling for a complete ban, just more control and security with regards to how our rifles are stored.

Re: Air Rifle Security
So according to that transcript this tragic death took place in 1999 before the new 2010 act came in. Why is it even being debated? Surly that case and others generated the new law.
Re: Air Rifle Security
To me iy looks like the MP concerned is just trying to grab some 'smarty points' and make a bit of a name for himself. Must admit however that I do agree those of us who own air weapons should be exceptionally careful about how we securely store them. I know some own who has 3 air rifles and has no security for them whatsoever.

Re: Air Rifle Security
Probably gonna get beaten up for not knowing but what is the requirement for the safe storage of 12ft lb air rifles?
Cheers

There is no legal requirement too store air weapons under 12 foot pounds too the same levels as say shotguns or firearms but since 2011 we must take reasonable precautions to stop unautherised access too anyone under the age of 18

Re: Air Rifle Security
All new Air Arms rifles come with a cable padlock and two screw eyes to screw into the wall. With the cable through the trigger guard that seems to be the bare minimum suggested by AA
Re: Air Rifle Security
Cheers no one under 18 has access to mine so they hang up in a cupboard in their bag's. Only kid in the house is 5
