Hi folks I hope some of your knowledgeable members can help as it was because of reading the posts on your old forum that i purchased an AA air rifle.
I purchased my air rifle new in Feb 2015 (a/r dom May 2014) and since then i would have fired a maximum of 7 or 8 magazines through it. I had been asked by a friend to sort out some feral pigeons at a local farm so i went to fire a check zero before i would carry out this task. I fired 2 shots at a paper target but when i was squeezing off the 3rd shot nothing happened, I removed the mag and tried recocking and firing off the action but nothing happened, i tried recocking and firing again several times before i gave up. I now have an air rifle with a pellet in the breech. Is there anything simple i can try before it has to be sent back to Air Arms to get sorted. By the way i did not double load the a/r.

Take the stock off and open the side trigger plate. Check to see if all the sears are intact.

Re: S510 xtra fac .22 fails to fire
Just to update the kind people for pointing me in the right direction for solving this problem.
I stripped the air rifle and removed the trigger mech housing plate, the two bottom sears were in the fired position but the top sear was still holding, so i pointed the air rifle in a safe direction and tripped the top sear with a screwdriver, which fired off the action and cleared the barrel of the previously loaded pellet. I inspected the sears but i could not see any cracks so i put all back together, i then fired off 3 full mags, so 30 pellets later the air rifle cycled without any further problems. I still do not know what caused the problem in the first place and the only thing i am worried about is that the same problem could occur some time in the future.

Re: S510 xtra fac .22 fails to fire
If you are saying there was no sear overlap and the top sear was just hanging, with FAC weapon that was a fatal accident waiting to happen. Maybe the sear spring is not man enough to overcome the stronger FAC hammer spring (is there a different sear spring for FAC anyone? ) or maybe the sear pivot is a bit tight but if it happens again it needs some light gunsmithing IMO.
