It's great to have the forum back. Thanks for the hard work guys and hopefully you'll be able to recover the old posts.
I recently purchased a FTP 900. What can I say. It's great and shoot as well as it looks.
Just one question though. What is the purpose of the shim?
I noticed that there was a gap between the action and the stock, with the shim installed. When I removed the shim , the fit between the action and the stock was much better.

Re: FTP 900
I don't
know, but that has never
stopped me before. I would think the gap would be to stop any differential expansion between wood stock and metal pressure cylinder affecting each other, and therefore aim.
