well finally a question about air rifles I can chip in on, although, Raj`ll see this & do a far better job, ahem,
my S200 was to me, coming back from a 20 year lay off, a revelation in shooting, light, accurate, unbelievably accurate, I love the 2 piece stock although that is a bit of a marmite subject, I`d say, shoulder one THEN make your mind up, haven`t yet found a (quality) pellet it doesn`t like, I simply stick to AA fields & Falcon accuracies as they`re readily available & when they strike the quarry, it tends to drop! I removed my 10 shot mag after my late father multi loaded it & to be honest I`ve never missed it, although for target shooting or plinking you might appreciate the function, had a thought-

Pros and Cons about my Mk 2 S200 .22. Which I really do like.
With JSB Express its shoots,at worst M.O.A. and is devastating out to my self imposed limit of 55 yards.
I shoot left handed as well so like the ambidextrous stock.

I find the trigger mechanism over complicated and a difficult to get right and the stock way too short.

I recently sold my S410 .177 in preference to the S200.

I found the S410 comb to low and had to 'chin' the stock,which slowed down target acquisition but I did have the lightweight ambidextrous stock without the cheekpiece.
The bolt was a bit difficult and required a positive effort rather than an unconscious movement and the rifle a wee bit light for me.
The trigger was a dream to use and adjust.
Again a M.O.A. shooter.

Shot hundreds of rabbits pigeons and squirrels with both rifles and I must say with both calibres didn't notice any difference on rabbits but for pigeons and squirrels the bigger wound channel of the .22 had the edge.
BTW was shown a faster way to load the S200 mag. Put the mag in the tin and pour pellets over it. This generally puts about 7 ish pellets in the right way up straight away.

While everyone knows that I am an out-and-out S200 slave, i cannot but agree with Robert's comment about the short stock. This i corrected by making my own ... out of a table leg end. The Legend stock as it is known


The trigger can be tuned very easily by following this method ...

Of the rifles in the cupboard. My S200 Mk3 is the first one to be grabbed if a woodster drops into the garden. But then I became very intimate with it from the start... only because from new it didn't have the accuracy I was led to believe. After various sizes and makes of .177 pellets still no joy. Shining a torch down the silencer revealed the problem – pellets were clipping the inside baffle retainer. A new half inch unf silencer adapter allowed use of my Walther silencer and my faith in Air Arms was restored. With a Huma external reg in place the shot count is vastly improved with a consistent 11.1-11.5ftlb with AA 4.52 Diabolo. Shimming the air reservoir around the thread makes the whole rifle considerably more solid and stops stretching the threads. Trigger mechanism cleaned up and lubed makes a difference along with a few other details.
In all an excellent rifle for the price.
