Hi All
Does anyone know the length of the AA standard spring.
Im suspecting mine might be passed its best (2012)
Am i right in assuming a knackered one will be shorter than a new one?
Some people have said longer some shorter?
Many thanks
MK3 TX200 PROSPORT SPRING.

As gaz said, check over a chrono first.
A worn spring will always be shorter than a new spring but can give a nicer feel to the shot cycle. You could open it up if needed and just add some power washers to the spring guide, assuming there is already 3 or 4 there you can add at least 1 more. Test first though, if it's at 10.8 or over I would leave it alone and enjoy the softer feel of a well run in spring.

Mine is a 2011 - HC.
I measured the spring after nearly 2,5k shoots:
L 220 mm
inner dia 15 mm
outer dia 21 mm
wire dia 2,95 - 3,00 mm
coils 25
170 shots measured with various pellet types/headsizes showed
MV 758 fps
10,9 fpe
standard dev 4,8
Best accuracy with
JSB Exact Express 4,52 (0,510 g / 7,9 gr)
810,2 fps / 11,5 fpe / max dev. 7,9 fps / std dev 2,4 fps
&
JSB Exact Heavy 4,52 (0,670 g / 10,34 gr)
689,6 fps / 10,9 fpe / max dev. 3,9 fps / std dev 1,4 fps
Hope this helps.
Happy shooting
Andreas

Re: MK3 TX200 PROSPORT SPRING.
Cheers for the replies.
I short stroked my Prosports and had no problems getting the power back up.
Im try to do the same with my TX but cant get the power up at all.Even adding preload didnt help much as the spring became coil bound.
The AA spring is 218mm long.
Iv ordered a no.10 Titan spring,so im hoping that might help.

Hi,
I short stroked my HC with a 10mm nose and a HW seal, I could not make the power with the original spring.
I fitted an HW spring and made the power but it was very hard to cock and although very fast and still accurate was a bit harsh for my liking.
I short stoked a HC for someone using a 10mm nose with the original seal and it made power with the original spring with just more preload.
It shot a bit slower but a nicer feel.
I recently sent my piston and compression chamber to Dave Price for re-engineering work and one of his spring kits.
I have to say that it is harder to cock than the standard gun but easier than my HW spring set up.
Shooting it is different class and very much more enjoyable.
After all the money I spent experimenting, my advice would be send it to Dave and you will not be disappointed.

Can only agree, Dave Price does great things as does Nick Gibney, different approaches but, they can both really transform a TX.

Not the best idea IMHO.
I'd stick with the original spring & parts as generally this airgun is doing a more than proper job in original state.
A professional tuning is another part of the game and you have a lot of choice there on your island. Alternatively you may try the 12-fpe kit of Vortek - excellent value for your money.
BTW - did you check breech seal & piston seal?
Are you sure that these parts are OK?

Re: MK3 TX200 PROSPORT SPRING.
Iv fitted a new piston seal and changed the breech seals prior to testing.
Im not happy with 9ftlbs with very light pellets,so its not being left like that.
Im hoping the Titan will bring the power back up.
