Yes I understand now, At my club the members go on the zeroing range first, now I know the reason, to check their adjustment in clicks to the range of the target, would a range finder be any good to use at the club, so I can get use to distance's of targets.

if you are just shooting for fun then yes. if you wish to take part in comps, then no as you are not allowed any range finding device. if you have just started have a little fun first, you will get the bug.
, I love it, but just like any hobby/interest its nice to try and improve and enjoy it more, if I can look at a target at a comp shot and roughly judge the distance, using r/finder at the club to help me with this, I'm never going to do the major comp shoots, only the local club comp shoots.
