Leak

Thu Sep 10, 2015 9:17 pm

Filled my s410 to 170 bar a couple of hours ago and just noticed its reading 150 bar on the rifles gauge,a quick check with the pump confirmed it has gone down to 150 bar so the rifle must have a leak somewhere.any ideas where it could be leaking from and how to check

try pumping it back up to 170 but do it slowly. filling a gun fast will heat the gun and air up. when it cools the pressure will drop. i allways bleed the gun and leave it for 2 mins after every 80-100 bar then carry on pumping

it shouldent take a few hours buddy. if you pump the gun and bleed it over 20 mins it should be fine. if not then you do have a leak. good luck hope it all works out fine.

Stick a balloon over the end of the barrel and one over the fill valve. If either inflate, theres your leak, if not it could be leaking at the pressure gauge.

Get some car shampoo, don't use washing up liquid, it's full of salt, then dilute 50/50 and drip it onto all the joints and sealing faces with a cotton bud, let it run right around each joint and look for bubbles, and, as above, balloon over the barrel, this tests the firing valve.
