What do you dislike about modern air rifles.

No sure price is a factor, 500 plus sounds a lot say for a prosport but then it will last a lifetime with minimal servicing cost,then it becomes cheap,and after ten years of use i may get another, becouse they are that good

You're right Dave, I recently had a go with a Haenal breakbarrel from the 1970s fitted with a 4x20 scope. It was sweet to use and produced very nice groups at 20 yards or so.

I have to say that price didnt come into it for me, thats not saying I like putting the money out its more I wouldnt want to make from scratch an S410 for what they cost.
Infact I couldnt do it with materials and my time I would be looking at closer to £1400 for a rifle AA sell for les than £500.
If I then look back 25 years to what I used to pay for a rifle it feels like prices have come down a bit. I may be wrong but my wages were certainly a lot less.

Considering manufacturer's investment in premises,plant,tooling,research and development,staff etc,with some exceptions the modern air rifle is a bargain.I can only assume economy of scale keeps prices so low,and no I'm not a on a moonlighting M.P.'s wages.
