I've not heard of the Chinese thing. They make quality products it has to be said. I own a 100 and its the most clinical gun in my armory! From what I've heard/read over the past five years or so is that the TX200 is unbeatable out of the box and hardly worth tuning , other than a strip and relube, but!The 97 responds well to a bit of a tune, and it can be made just that wee bit better than the TX.
I'm not a springer man, I've owned a TX and it was a great little rifle, the above is only what Ive read.
