back to the farm for rats

well it took a bit longer than I hoped but I got out last night again for some scaly tail bashing.
Was worried when I first got there as the estate had obviously run a tractor round and levelled the whole area, removing all the lovely mulch that the rats had been tunnelling through.
There was still the earth bund though so I thought I'd wait and see....

Yep they are still there :o
Could have had more if I hadn't misranged a few  but the fact that when this happened and the pellet smacked into the mud next to them they just sat there and peered round in a worried fashion rather than legging it shows that they aren't getting enough hunting. Need to change that ;)
A few could obviously tell that I was out there as they were sitting up on there hind legs and sniffing the breeze - but all that did was make them a nice big stationary target :D Just have to love NV!
At the end I walked round with the head torch to tidy up but once I turned it off, they were coming back out only minutes later :?

Only downside was that I'd told the missus I'd only be gone an hour and ended up being a little bit longer than that........

Geordie, I'm using a Pulsar N550 on top of an AA S410 in .177
Actually bought the rifle second hand from this site (well the old one) and it has taken a lot of vermin since, plus done me proud on HFT courses. It is now my permanent NV rig though.
The N550 was bought a few years ago and though I haven't used it as much as I would have liked, it has proved very worth while for the ratting. If I was looking now of course there are plenty of other cheaper options but back then there wasn't much choice. And having dropped it once :o  I can vouch for their toughness.

Just need to check for when the missus is next out in the evening and see if I can get into double figures on the next trip
