Had great morning 18 woodys high up in the branches feeding on beech tree buds.
Mostly high spine shots with a few head shots 45 yards. Plus bonus obligatory nosy maggy.
S200,what a precision tool!
Back out tomorrow!

Very nice job that man. Pigeon pie all round, I have to say of all game pigeon is the meat I crave most :) I'll bet you were very chuffed with that bit of shooting and the Maggie must have been the icing on the cake :) (The magpie I'm particularly jealous of, i've nailed them with shotguns, rimfires and Larsen traps but they are the one quarry I always seem to fail on with an air rifle :x :x  )

Great work !!! And you could say I am a bit biased towards the S200 myself.... :)

About magpies, James .... The guts seem to attract them well. And bird food

Magpies!
Had 20 odd last year, all from concealment. they come quickly to a dead pigeon then use shot maggy as decoy.
Works really well when the stupid youngster's start to show.
Did this yesterday and reckoned I might get another maggy while waiting for more pigoen.
Unfortunately a buzzard arrived, gave the dead maggy a second take then got stuck into the woody and eventually buggered off with the remains. So none went to waste!
Maggies have fantastic sight as you know and within air rifle range you have got to be super still not to spook them.

Just got back after another do.
Only 4 today the wind has changed and the woodies are feeding at the back of the trees and threading a shot through is very difficult. Missed 3 trying.
First time I have shot them feeding on beech trees will make a note for this time next year.

Some good shooting there lads. Makes me want to get out and take a few myself. Seems I have been busy keeping the bunny numbers down lately so the birds have been getting a lucky break.
