Invincible squirrel

I am surprised no one has cottoned on to what happened here. Let me explain ....

1. The 'peripheral near miss' that hit the squirrel (but didnt kill it) clean came from another hunter. He took a shot with a .22 at another animal last week but as we all know, it can take a few days for a .22 to cover 25 yards. That shot was just bad luck for Eddie's squirrel.

2. The .22 pellet that Eddie discharged is still in flight.

3. I cant believe I have just started a "Which is better? .22 or .177 debate"

It means you've skimmed the top.of it's head

The shot hit square behind the eye and exited above the other eye. Second shot was point blank to top of head and it was still kicking till neck break

I am not a youtube hunting watcher, but I did have a butchers, I know it's the system shutting down, but for me it is occasionally the close ones that might require a second shot, which doesn't bother me as I don't have so far to go to sort the problem, but it doesn't explain why I don't seem to notice this at longer ranges, where my .177 comes into play, don't want to blow my own trumpet, but over the years I've shot loads of them, I don't normally take pictures of kills, but I do sometimes take them with the rifle that was in use at the time, and they can be embarrassing to the point of should I even be doing this, but when I have gone back the next day, it's as though I hadn't been there ie loads more, so I don't lose any sleep over it, we are not all newbies to this game, Rant over. Not through head shots.
I shoot an awful lot of Greys.
Calibre is irrelevant. On the feeder I mentioned I have shot 70 odd in the last two months without a miss.
Whats important is not where you put the pellet in but that it exits through the brain.

Just to lighten this up a bit, I bet my greys are more awful than yours, this is more to do with Eddie letting us all know that he is a shooter that wants to do the right thing by his quarry, he is obviously a caring shooter, there are far to many nutcases out there, who have no respect for what they are doing, nobody gets it right all the time, it's not possible, everyone makes mistakes, but the man who can own up to them, and learn from them has got to be due a lot of respect I think.
