Blackbaronfish wrote:This year we will be having a summer meet in Higham on the hill nr Nuneaton Warwickshire. It will be our first meet to take place in the summer and wont be the usual night and day HFT. Instead we will have a fun shoot and informal plinking range. The meet will be all about having fun, meeting and greeting. August the 1st and 2nd is the date thats set and will not change.

With a bonfire to keep us warm and a BBQ for the hungry it would be proper glamping  ...bring and share works well as we have always done.

Toilets will be on site and i have arranged for a caterer to make full English breakfasts on the Sunday morning as well as tea and coffee.
Cost will be £20 per person for the weekend including camping. OAP £15 and children free.

THE VENUE

Higham Fields Farm
Higham Fields Lane,
Higham on the hill,
Nuneaton,
Warwickshire.

"HOW MUCH!" ;) said the man from Yorkshire.
I've only just spent £12.99 (down from £19.99) buying a tent in Aldi for the meet, managed to beg a sleeping bag from my son in-law, so am sorted for a nights kip. I will bring my favourite pillow to dribble on through the night.
Suppose i'll have to buy a new tin of pellets as well. It's amazing how the costs add up

Joking aside, i got home this evening to be greeted with the news that my dear sister-in laws "surprise birthday do" is going to be held now at 2.00 pm on Saturday 1st August
We will be travelling to Romford early Saturday morning (only three hours).
Originally it was going to be held in Barkinside, but now has been moved to her daughters in Hockley, Essex. :x
Anyway, the wife says we will only have to stay for an hour or so, then i can drop her off at her mum's in Romford, then make my way to the meet :D
So by my reckoning, Hockley to Romford = 45mins, Romford to Nuneaton 2hrs. If i leave at 3.00pm in Hockley, i should be there at about 6.00pm, gasping for a few pints of ale :D
I know i will have missed a days shooting, but i refuse to miss the evening do, and will be there come what may :D
Can't wait,
Graham.
