Hi All,
New to the forum.
At the weekend I inadvertently dry fired my TX200 HC .22 (first time in seven years).
I stripped the gun down to check for damage. The spring and piston seal were fine.
However I noticed the the cocking shoe was snapped in half.

Could a dry fire break the cocking shoe, or is it more likely that it had just broken sometime recently from use.
The gun was still cocking with the broken shoe.
I bought the gun new and it has fired 19,500 pellets.

Dry firing wouldn't cause the cocking shoe to break it would have been broken before you dry fired
