Hi guys,
the "bear trap" on my TX200 .22 mk2 has just stopped working it no longer locks the underlever!
It was working although now and again it didn't quite lock the lever and let it slip past.
Anybody had this problem and fixed it?
Thanks
Phil

It's got to be something really simple. If the notches in the comp tube are ok it means the the bit that engages in the notches is worn, the spring behind it is worn or the ABT lever needs oiling.

Hi Timmytree,
thanks for the quick reply and info.
Excuse my ignorance but what is the "ABT" lever?
Thanks

Anti Bear Trap.

That went too soon!
The lever on the right side of the rifle is where I reckon the problem will lie. Fpoole will be the man to tell you exactly.

Ok thanks, I'll strip it down and check for wear.

Re: TX200 "Bear Trap" not locking/working!
I've just taken the action out of the stock and noticed that the pivot pin for the "bear trap" rocker arm was about half way out and after fully removing it and the arm noticed the spring is missing!
So I've ordered a new one and hopefully that will sort it out!
The good thing about the TX200 rifles is that they are so easy to take apart to work on and all the parts are still available.
Thanks
Phil

Nice easy fix then!
That's the beauty of AA underlevers, simple to work on, there just isn't much to go wrong.
Still keep hold of that lever though.
Happy shooting.

Hi,
yes I think the spring will sort it out, it's a simple but effective design.
Yes I will certainly hang on to the lever thanks.
