I bought this rifle a few weeks ago, not had much chance to shoot it yet due to medical reasons, but I thought I would strip it down and give it a service as it's a few years old. Looks like someone got a bit carried away with the grease last time!

All cleaned out and now back together with an appropriate greasing! :)

These guns are such a pleasure to work on, so easy!

I bet your glad it was only grease they messed up with. I remember a chap that opened his up and it was packed with wood and tape :o
Oh the joy of an aspiring gunsmith ;)

All my TX's wind up looking over lubed. That 70% moly lube just gives everything a messy look after a few thousand shots. I also never bother cleaning a gun out, unless it seems to have gotten some grit in it. I just replace the spring and piston seal, when needed, and let the old lube stay put. Mind you, I shoot FT and I shoot 10-20,000 pellets a year so I open up my guns very regularly.
