underlever drop
underlever drop
Hi folks, how far should the under lever drop when released from the ball catch? the lever on my hc drops about three quarters of an inch before you feel any spring tension, is this normal?

you need to get your fingers in!
Re: underlever drop
My Mk2 dropped almost an inch before finding spring tension, so i'd suggest its normal.

Re: underlever drop
OK so, I don`t know is the short answer, but, I feel it`s the wrong question, the relevant issue is power output, if your gun is putting out around 11 ftlbs then the issue in the OP is irrelevant! if on the other hand, your gun`s spitting out let`s say 9 for the sake of, then you may have an issue with spring wear/length, power washers, ok, I need TX/Prosport owners to chip in here (cos I don`t own one) do you know the rifles output Stokie?

Re: underlever drop
Hi folks, been away for a few days, I own two hcs, the drop on the under lever seems to be due to how close the tolerances are at the cocking shoe where the cocking lever sits, one of mine is a snug fit and the lever hardly drops when released from the catch,no wear on either rifle, put it down to quality control, thanks for all your replys
Re: underlever drop
The power level makes no difference to cocking arm drop, unless you have a broken spring and zero preload. The drop is as the op says, slack in the cocking link, cocking link pins and their holes, cocking shoe and the cocking shoe slot position on the comp. tube. Just a tiny, and I'm talking thousanths of an inch, bit of play in any of these parts will change the lever drop a fair amount. I own 8 TX's and all drop from almost nothing for 1 to at least an inch or more on others. I guess when you look at all the points for slack to occur AA does a good job keeping the drop fairly uniform.
