Tx 200 tuning ...

I'm asking months before I intend to go on with it.

If money is no object how far can you sweeten the shooting with a
TX 200 HC ??? I've just invested in HW 100 and 'am taking it to get
a full service so money is tight at the mo BUT when money is available,
I have full intentions of sending my TX 200 HC of for the works ....

Before the spring went my TX was shooting brilliantly 10 mm groupings
at 30 yrds of sticks and with a bit of practice ... I want to have this rifle
more user friendly and as much less recoil as possible, I know some will
say what's the point in a springer for recoil-less, it's what I want simple.

I'm more than happy with my tx200hc as far as recoil goes,and its very accurate all I done was fit a tinbum kit, £20:00.shoots great ,in my opinion that's as far as I'd go,otherwise buy a pcp,the tx200hc is a fantastic gun when you learn how to hold it thats my opinion,but it's your gun and your money,others will have a different idea,there are are kits out there,?.I' do wonder if you can make it any better, I also had a word with Tony Wall of sandwell field sports he said it great as is,and wouldn't bother as it's a great gun anyway,I respect him being honest with me,

between my S200 & LGU I reckon I`ve as little recoil as possible within my budget & simply shoot with those rifles strengths, to MY safe limit, up to 35m, comfortable in the knowledge I will hit what I`m aiming at (far) more often than not.
If your TX is sweet to begin with, unless tuning extends the working life of parts, I`d say simply shoot to it & your strengths.
if it aint broke etc!!
(I do shoot groups further with the LGU but I don`t hunt with it or anything .177, just my preference mind)

if money is no object you can take a TX to a very sweet cycle. it will never be as dead feel as a PCP, but it can be made to shoot with a very quick action/lock time. light alloy piston, shorter stroke, transfer port mods, delrin guides. a heavier stock would also dampen some recoil too. what do want to acheive? anything can be made better as everything production wise is a trade off between quality/excellence and production cost.

its what man/shed creates. the law of deminishing returns. get an average stereo, put some decent speakers with it, its transformed no end, then you go down a route which you start using gold speaker wire, greater expense for less return. but why not? the TX is not perfect, no matter what anyone tells you. you either buy into the myth, live with it, or make it better. whats better? feel, shot cycle etc. many aspects of what is considered better, Blue pill/Red pill, where you want to go.

The best return for your money is properly fitting guides and top hats, decent grease in the right quantities and the right pellets!
Most springers like light pellets so try different weights and headsizes. In .177 that means 7.5 to 8.5 grn pellets, anything heavier will make the rifle feel harsh and increase recoil. You can also play around with preload to improve the shot cycle with little loss in power but a great improvement in felt recoil.
